Dubfire needs little introduction, but a reminder never hurts. Ali Shirazinia, born in Iran and raised in Washington, first came to global attention as one half of Deep Dish, picking up a Grammy in 2001 with Sharam before stepping away to pursue underground house and techno on his own terms. His solo career started in 2007 with tracks like RibCage, Emissions and Roadkill, followed closely by the now-classic remix of Plastikman’s Spastik and Radio Slave’s Grindhouse. SCI+TEC launched the same year and has been his home base ever since.

Nearly twenty years in, he’s still at it. The live EVOLV, a show built with Portugal’s own DubLab team, is definitive proof.
