Chlär came up in the Swiss illegal-rave scene and never quite let go of that sentiment. Now Berlin-based and touring the heaviest end of the techno calendar, he plays four decks at once while improvising through the set, looping his own tools live and watching the conversation-like response with the crowd.

His music stretches across the universe of techno, hardgroove and ghettotech alongside deeper percussive grooves, all aided by an ear sharpened from years working as a mastering engineer. “Demanding, persevering, eclectic” is how he describes himself.

This is a man who takes techno seriously, just the way we like it.
