Supermayer is Michael Mayer and Superpitcher, two of Kompakt’s defining faces. Mayer co-founded the label in 98 and has spent four decades shaping what came to be known as the Cologne sound. Sparse, hypnotic, emotional. The Immer mixes, Fabric 13, DJ-Kicks, over a hundred remixes, but ask him what he is and he’ll tell you he’s a DJ first and foremost. Schaufler joined Kompakt the following year and carved out a completely different musical corner, with melancholic, romantic, pop songs dressed as club tracks. Here Comes Love, Kilimanjaro and the Golden Ravedays epic, for example.

Together they are the sum of their distinct musical personalities. Think trumpets and flutes and gongs sneaking in between the kicks.
